I'd hate to think that sometime much later, maybe in Chapter... 10 or something, Gwen finally has a use that nets you the most impressive armor in the game, and you have to have that stupid tapestry shred to get it.

At that time, you simply create a new character, get the tapestry in pre and your problem is solved

I dont want to give too much away. But do you really think Anet would just leave a broken quest in the game for this long?

You seem to be implying that the Gwen situation is solvable?

I tried it all. Spoke with the flute, broken flute on to Sarah in pre and in the UW but nothing happens. She doesnt respond to you.
I think its just a left over from the Beta and something for the people to fush about.

I've looked into this further and discovered that Sarah doesn't in fact disappear, but instead appears at that location randomly, so just zone a couple of times and take Gwen to sarah...?

It's probably some inter-governmental conspiracy. Gwen is actually a russian spy who relays information back to the motherland, either that or a druglord who uses her flutes to distribute cocaine across Tyria. Yes! That's right Gwen I'm on to you and your clever little act! You're a sly one, but your charades shall go no further, people will finally know the truth!

I've cleared UW and had the flute, cape, and shred on me and NOTHING happened when I tried to talk to Sarah. It's one of those things that people had theories on and the theories became so big because no one managed to do it for ages. Then when people start doing it regularly it is already out of control, and the "truth" as it were never gets passed along.

I'm talking about PRE-SEARING here, for get post-searing for now, ok?

Is the Gwen Strand solvable in Pre-searing?

Hate to say it, there is nothing to solve. Gwen is just a cute girl who follows you around randomly healing you, gives you a shread of cloth because she thinks you're nice, disappears during the searing and is bound to pop back up at some point, but from all indications (including the latest from Gaille Gray) she is still missing in Factions... the broken flute you find post-searing, the tapestry shread, useless... when they become useful, drop your PvP slot long enough to grab the two and clear the academy, then just dump them in storage and be on your way.

Pretty sure she'll show up as the Queen of Orr in the last chapter. And she requires here flute (preferably not broken) and tapestry shread for her scepter and cloak. Giving them to her will unlock the hidden secrets of Orr (possibly 15 attribute points).

I'm really not not not not not not not not not serious about this post.

lol, Anet might actually be leaving the Gwen Strand unsolvable so people like us will talk about what we think happens and Anet can then use those ideas, becuase they are secretly spying on us.

So don't be surprised if Gwen IS the queen of Orr.

EDIT: Oh, and I tryed taking Gwen to Sarah, but nothing happened, might be because I'm a mesmer of something stupid like that.

Maybe it's all just a hint of a future class. That's right, Gwen's a Bard, complete with flute and healing spells. Lol
